Lisa is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Depression & Anxiety Consumer Research Unit. Lisa’s research interests include using qualitative and quantitative methodology to investigate the use of online support for depression, stigma about depression and help-seeking, and the development and evaluation of interventions to reduce stigma. Alison is a post-doctoral researcher at e-hub. She works on various e-hub and CRU projects, including the YouthMood project. The YouthMood project is investigating whether MoodGYM, an interactive web program, is effective in lowering depression, improving self-esteem, and lowering stigmatising attitudes to depression amongst adolescents. Helen’s research interests include prevention and early intervention in depression and anxiety, the development of public health interventions for depression, anxiety and other mental disorders, the use of Internet technology in conducting randomized controlled trials, the integration of Internet and other tools in health services, risk factors for anxiety and depression, cognitive ageing and mental health across the lifespan. Lou is a Clinical PhD student working on a collaborative project between CMHR and Lifeline Australia. She is examining the effectiveness of web-based Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and psychoeducation in lowering depression in Lifeline callers, when supported by telephone counsellors. Kathy’s research interests include consumer informatics (and particularly the evaluation of the quality of Internet-based health information), the development and evaluation of Internet psycho-educational, early intervention and preventive interventions, the evaluation of online self help communities, and the use of the Internet in reducing stigma. She also leads a number of consumer focused projects including consumer priorities for research, consumer reports of treatment effectiveness, consumer information needs and the evaluation of stigma associated with depression. Amelia is a PhD research student and research assistant working on various projects within ehub. Her past projects have included a systematic review of models of primary mental health care for depression/and or anxiety, and a systematic review examining models/treatments for comorbid substance use disorders and the high prevalence disorders of depression and/or anxiety. Robert is a Research Fellow at e-hub. His research interests are based on alcohol, tobacco and other drug use and in particular how these relate to mental health disorders. He is also interested in the development of new treatment interventions, delivery of interventions to new groups and the use of new modes of delivery. He is also keen to use existing data sets to assess the long-term relationships between substance use and mental / physical health disorders.
